Fish 398 (Season 15,033) Returns 74 (2,902) Rod average 5.4 (5.2)

It has been another cracking week on Pitsford Water with a rod average of 5.4. Once again Pitsford’s stunning Brown trout are making an appearance. Topping the catch returns was a superb Brown of 9lb 2oz caught on a Di5 with fry lure patterns. This big specimen was part of a 10 fish haul of Browns with another fantastic specimen of 8lb 4oz and three others over 6lb. All were safely returned. Other nice fish reported by anglers this week included a 5lb Brown and a Rainbow of 4lb. One angler had 13 fish on a catch and release ticket.

The bank fishing is very good with most anglers reporting lots of fish in the margins on both shrimp and fry.

On Sunday the Mid Northants FF held their Fur and Feather boat match. The top rod on the day recorded nine fish with his first four fish weighing 11lb 12oz and the best fish was a Rainbow of 3lb 13oz. Two anglers tied for second place with four fish for 8lb 10oz.

The best areas are the main basin, Pines and Sailing Club.
