Pitsford Water week ending 20 March

Rod average 4 (Season 3.8)

The fishing at Pitsford Water over the past week has been challenging for both boat and bank anglers. We stocked a further 1,500 2lb fantastic quality rainbow trout bringing the total stocked since February to 9,500. Anglers have reported that although they haven't caught in large numbers it has been the overwintered fish that they have been catching which have been in superb condition and up to 4lb.
The warm sunny days have also resulted in a nice buzzer hatch on the water. The rod average this week is a respectable 4. Popular areas from a boat have been Brixworth Bay and the Sailing Club. From the bank the narrows and the pines have produced fish when the wind direction has allowed.
