Fish week 801 (Season 2,437) Returns 104 (357) Rod average 7.7 (6.8)
The fishing just gets better and better from the boats at Pitsford with some incredible catches from most areas of the lake. Many boat anglers are reporting catching well into double figures with lots of fish over 3lb and described by several anglers as the hardest fighting fish they have encountered.
The bank continues to be very hit and miss with regulars catching early or late on and one or two anglers finding a pod of feeding fish but the sport from the bank isn't very consistent.
On the other hand, boat anglers are having some of the best sport in recent times. The boats are catching fish on a variety of methods from most areas but by far the most productive areas are the Dam, Sailing Club and Pitsford Creek, with Brixworth Bay and Pines also starting to produce big numbers of fish.
Methods range from buzzers on floating or tip lines, olive snakes on intermediates, small lures on Di3’s and even dries.
Bank anglers have found the best methods to be washing line with nymphs, buzzers under the bung and again dries.
Best Rainbow: 5lb plus.
Best Brown: Estimated 7lb plus.
