Fish 766 (Season 8,841) Returns 153 (1,385) Rod average 5.0 (6.4)

It has been a very good week on Pitsford with lots of quality fish and a rod average for the week of 5. There have been lots of good fish in the catch returns. John Pearson and Ray Rouse had a good day afloat. They both had their limit with John returning a 4lb 4oz Brown as well as Rainbows of 4lb and 3lb 14oz. Ray had Rainbows of 4lb and 3lb.

John Harper had the best Rainbow of the week with a fish of 5lb 2oz, but his bag included 4lb and 3lb 3oz Rainbows and a Brown of 4lb 1oz. Tony Frost had a quality bag of 8 fish including specimens of 4lb 10oz, 4lb 6oz, 4lb 4oz and 4lb.

The best areas are the main basin and dam and Small Half for the boats or Gravels and Sermans from the bank. Floating or midge tip lines and crunchers or buzzers fished on a washing line with a FAB or booby on the point.

AMFC Group one
36 anglers representing six teams caught 194 fish for a rod average of 5. The Fish Hawks were the top team with 39 fish for 97lb 3oz. Tunbridge Wells took second place with 39 fish for 93lb 13oz and Rutland Water took third with 31 fish for 79lb 11oz. Top rod was Graham Pearson from Rutland with 8 fish for 23lb 15oz including time bonus. Ben Worley of Soldier Palmers took the best fish of the match with a 4lb 1oz Brown.

Hosts monthly open sessions for beginners at Pitsford where fully trained instructors are on hand to offer advice on fly casting, fly tying and water craft. Non members welcome. All sessions are 2-5pm
