Fish 184 (Season 11,858) Returns 44 (2,141) Rod average 4.2 (5.5)
Pitsford is returning to form with a rod average of 4.2 for the week and both boat and bank fishing well.
Boat anglers have reported fish in the Narrows and all the way up to the Dam while bank anglers are getting good quality resident fish which have now moved into the margins and are feeding heavily on shrimp.
Dave Strudwick had a cracking morning fishing for the shrimp feeders along the Gravels. He had eight fish, two Brown trout between 3½ - 4lb and six Rainbows. All fish were returned but Dave said they were all solid well conditioned resident fish.
The boats are finding fish in the open water up at the dam with floating lines and teams of nymphs working best. Diawl bachs and crunchers are top patterns with muskins also accounting for a number of fish.
David Dixon boat fished in the main basin catching and releasing 15 fish and described it as an excellent day’s fishing.
J Salisbury also had a day afloat, catching and returning 11 fish.
Fish are well spread across the main bowl and are in the top couple of feet, coming to dries when there is cloud cover.
