Pitsford Water week ending 16 August

Fish 165 (Season 5,391) Returns 43 (872) Rod average 3.8 (6.2)

The weather conditions and warm water temperatures influenced the fishing at Pitsford during the week with the rod average at 3.8.

There are some algal blooms forming at the dam end of the lake but water clarity is better as you come back towards the Causeway and Narrows.

Although fish are showing across the lake they are reluctant to take.

Best methods have been either dries or floating and intermediate lines and foam daddies teamed up with nymphs.

The best boat areas are still the main basin, Narrows and Causeway while bank anglers should try Rigbys, Gravels and Sermons.

Best Brown: 5lb.

Beginners Courses: 23 & 28 August; 10 & 19 September and other dates throughout the season. Please call 01604 781350.
