Pitsford Water Week Ending 14th July 2024

Rod Average - 2.0

The rod average for Pitsford this week has dropped to 2 which suggests things are quite tough. However the online catch returns for Monday the 15th showed that most boats caught well with individual anglers reporting 15, 5, 9, 7 along with some 2s and 3s. Interestingly conditions were quite settled with cloud and a light wind and it would seem that the fish responded. All anglers were fishing washing line tactics with Booby or Fab holding up teams of Diawls, Crunchers and Muskins patterns.

Dries have also continued to work with Crippled Midge and F Fly mentioned.
The fish still seem to be holding in the main basin down as far as the top of the Narrows and some really good fish have been seen along the Sailing club bank down towards Brixworth Bay and also in the open water from Brixworth bay across to the Pines.

Bank anglers have reported fish along Sermons and Holly bush, these fish being close in and feeding on Shrimp. The Ghimp patterns have caught well here.
