Pitsford Water week ending 13 June

Fish week 206 (Season 6,269) Returns 42 (880) Rod average 4.9 (7.1)

Although the weekly rod average is a respectable 4.9 the fishing took a dip towards the weekend in the rising temperatures. Fish were harder to find in the hot, bright conditions. Bank anglers caught in the first or last couple of hours of the day. Cooler weather is forecast with the chance of some rain with conditions for fishing set to improve.

Damsel, shrimps and snail patterns are working from the bank with Gorse, Gravels, Duffers and Stone Barn fishing best.

Boat anglers have found sinking lines the best method with Di5’s or 7’s getting the flies down to the fish that are holding deeper in the main basin and dam.

Deep fished buzzers are working as are tubes and snakes on drifts anywhere across the main basin.

Fish stocked: 1,500.
