Fish 599 (Season 3,931) Returns 91 (598) Rod average 6.6 (6.6)

It has been another fantastic week on Pitsford with no sign of the superb sport letting up and a rod average for the week of 6.6. With another stocking this week of 1,500 fish the good sport is set to continue.

There have been numerous fish reported between 4-5lb and bag weights have been very good with 8 fish bags weighing well over 20lb. Kevin Garn weighed in 8 fish for 25lb plus. Whilst another of our regular anglers caught 35 fish during four visits with 19 of these weighing 2-3lb and 8 weighing 3-4lb.

Bank fishing is still producing but we are starting to see some weed growth in some areas. The best bank areas are Gravels, Sermans, Rigbys and Northfields.

Boat fishing has been excellent with the main basin providing quality fish across the whole basin.

Dries are working well in overcast conditions with grunter, big red and cdc emerger patterns working.  Floating lines and teams fished washing line style are also producing good numbers of fish. Popular flies include FAB’s or small boobies and nymphs such as nemo, muskins or diawl bachs.

Best Rainbow: A number in the 4-5lb range.

Fish stocked: 1,500.

Beginners Courses:17 & 25 July; 2,8,14,23 & 28 August and other dates throughout the season. Please call 01780 686441.
