Fish 223 Returns 77 Rod average 2.9

Although out of season the Brown trout are still showing up in numbers with another 7lb plus fish reportedly caught and released.

Both bank and boat anglers are catching with tactics being floating lines and shrimp. Snail patterns are working from the bank while snails or minkies on intermediate lines worked best from the boats.

Pitsford hosted its popular Fur and Feather boat match on Saturday. 48 anglers braved the cold, wet conditions catching 107 fish. The best boat pair took 8 fish for 21lb 12oz, winning by the narrowest of margins with the second placed pair weighing in just one ounce behind with 8 fish for 21lb 11oz. Third place went to a pair weighing in 8 fish for 20lb 6oz. Anglers really appreciated the hot meal of chilli that followed at the lodge. The most successful methods were intermediate or Di3 lines with snails and humungus patterns. The best areas were Sailing Club, Gravels and Northfield shore.

Day boat prices are now reduced for the winter – the Winter boat is available from 9am to sunset £21, single man £15.
