Fish 659 Returns 105 Rod average 6.2

The warm, bright weather conditions have made fishing challenging this week. Despite this our anglers have still been finding fish and recorded a rod average of 6.2 for the week.

During the first part of the week the fish were to be found just a few feet under the surface. This held true, even out in the middle of the reservoir and anglers who had been prepared to stick it out in the bright weather found themselves well in amongst the fish using midge tips and small nymphs. The boils have also been fishing extremely well with several boat anglers bagging up last Friday.

For those wanting to bank fish the best option will be fishing the dam wall early in the morning and late in the evening using a floating line and don’t be afraid to use dry flies or failing that a small hares ear

Best boat areas: Mouth of Savages, Gaynes Cove, A buoy.

Best bank areas: The dam, Plummer, G mark.

Beginners Courses:15, 21 & 29 August; 13,18 & 24 September and other dates throughout the season. Please call lodge on 01480 810531.
