Rod Average - 6.0

The weather has been very changeable this week, with everything from hot still days to colder overcast windy days.

The fishing has been tougher this week with the rod average now being 6 with fish still being caught all over the south & north west shore.

The fish continue to be caught on buzzers & hares ears & have occasionally come up to the top few feet of the water. The best methods have been straight lining & washing lines.
The best spots from the boat this week were the South end of the Dam & Sludge Bank, Gaynes cove, left of the harbour up to west bank and Sanctuary bay as well as in Savages Creek and Rainbow point.

The buzzer hatches have become less frequent but many anglers have had success fishing them under the bung and strait lining. Successful flies from the boat this week have been Buzzers, Snakes, Diawhl Bachs, Shrimps & Hares Ears. The best reported this week was an 8lb Brown Trout & 9lb Zander.

The bank fishing has been better this week with the best places to target your efforts being the Seat, Harbour Arms & Dam early morning. Successful flies from the bank have been Buzzers, shrimp & Snakes.

A brief reminder to those thinking of fishing the Dam, that there are restrictions still in place, please check the fishery rules for details.
The forecast for the forthcoming week looks more settled with sunshine & temperatures in the mid teens throughout.
