Grafham Water Week Ending 27th April 2025

Rod Average - 8.0

The weather has been great for fishing all week at Grafham & the wind has been light all week.

The fishing has been exceptional with the rod average being 8 and fish being caught all over the south & north west shore.

The fish continue to be caught at depth with the majority of the fish caught being  8-12 feet down on buzzers but have occasionally come up to the top few feet of the water and being taken on washing line methods.

The best spots from the boat this week were the South end of the Dam & Sludge Bank, Gaynes cove, left of the harbour up to west bank and Sanctuary bay as well as in Savages Creek and Rainbow point.

The buzzer hatches are getting more and more frequent with many anglers having lots of success fishing them under the bung and strait lining. Successful flies from the boat this week have been Buzzers, Blobs, fabs & Hares Ears.

The bank fishing has been better this week with the best places to target your efforts being sludge bank, the Seat & Harbour Arms. Successful flies from the bank have been Buzzers, shrimp & fabs.

A brief reminder to those thinking of fishing the Dam, that there are restrictions still in place, please check the fishery rules for details.

The forecast for the forthcoming week looks like more sunshine & warmer temperatures.
