Fish week 1,193 Returns 195 Rod average 6.1

With a total of 1,193 fish caught this week there can be no doubt that Grafham is producing outstanding sport. The boat anglers have been catching fish from various areas across the reservoir in warm and bright sunny conditions. The Seat and Gaynes Cove were producing high numbers of fish. A 5lb Rainbow was spooned and the stomach contained half a dozen little perch fry. One angler anchored up at 2pm and only stopped when his ‘arm ached from catching too many fish!’

One happy angler wrote an account of his successful day at Grafham “Hi there, I caught a beautiful 5lb 6oz Brown from G buoy. This was the best of 9 fish I caught on a blustery day. Two of the rainbows were almost 4lb. I’m happy to say that the brown went back safely, it was stunning and fin perfect caught on a Di 5 with a small black snake with a neon lime green head. All fish wanted to chase! A great day and excellent fish!”

It's great to hear about your catches or tales so please do share these with our rangers who will be more than happy to include your experiences in our weekly reports.

The bank anglers have been catching well from the harbour arms, using lures moved fast or if you prefer the traditional methods on a small green buzzer fished static has been very effective on both the south and north shores.

Please remember the team at Grafham are here to help so if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
