Grafham Water week ending 21st July 2024

Rod average - 4.0

Up until the real hot weather, the reservoir was fishing well, since then the fishing has slowed down a bit – but is likely to improve as the lake cools.  The fish are gorging on black snails along the edge of the weed beds. Gaynes Cove,  the Seat, Deep water point the willows and the Boils are worth trying.  Bank anglers were catching steadily around G, but this has slowed since the hot weather – boat anglers are having the best of it again now.  For flies, anything from Fabs, lures and hares ears are catching with fish just a few feet down.

On Sunday the 28th we host Swim Grafham, so the main basin will be out of bounds for boat anglers until around 10am.  Some bank areas will be out of bounds  until then also.

The following week we will be delighted to host the youth international – the reservoir will be extremely busy on the Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st.
