Anglers are continuing to enjoy some fantastic fishing at Grafham Water. One season ticket holder managed to catch 22 fish in one sitting from the dam wall at the beginning of the week. Boat anglers have also been enjoying good sport with one day ticket angler anchoring in Gaynes Cove and catching and releasing 30 trout that were all safely returned to fight for another day.
All in all Gaynes Cove is fishing the best for the boat anglers. It is holding a lot of overwintered fish; all of these are hard fighting and aggressive fish providing superb sport. The bay from the fishing lodge to the Sailing Club has been producing the goods for the determined angler willing to stake his bets and stick it out to the end of the day.
For both bank and boat anglers try either floating line fished washing line style with buzzer, hares ear, cruncher, muskins or diawl bach. Or for something different try a Di3 with black lures or damsels with a figure of eight retrieve, most fish have been taking in the hang.
Our lodges are now open in a Covid secure manner for tackle sales. Boat bookings can now be made over the phone and we will take your name and phone number and payment will be taken at the lodge on the day you fish. Customers can also now leave boat booking requests on the answer phone.
Whilst in and around the lodges please observe queueing mechanisms and signage and remember whilst onsite to follow the latest government Covid guidelines.
