Boat Handling Sessions
Introduction to Boat Handling Courses
We want anglers to get the most out of their time on the water, so our qualified fishing instructors run regular three-hour courses during the summer, teaching you how to handle our boats safely and correctly.
Based on two anglers sharing a boat, the 2022/2023 cost is just £65 per person (23/24 £70).
What will I learn?
We’ve devised the course to be comprehensive. You’ll learn about all parts of the engine, the anchor, the drogue, seating, oars, rollocks and the bilge pump.
Our instructors also show you how to fish on the drift and the rudder, talk you through boat etiquette and appropriate clothing, and lift the lid on some handy fishing tactics.
How does the day shape up?
Starting at 10:00 and finishing at 13:00, you’ll have all afternoon to put your new skills to the test on the water. There’s a one fish limit but you can spend the rest of your time catching and releasing.
What if I come alone?
Don’t worry. We’ll do our best to match you with someone with a similar level of experience and make sure you have the skills you need to have a fulfilling day.
And it’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people too.
